Whether we consider natural resource management, freight transport, the precarious situation of many workers, the failure to recycle a large proportion of textile waste, or the consequences of this waste on our societies, it is difficult to find meaning in this globalised industry. Dozens of stories of men and women lie behind these major issues, raising further questions. The work I am currently doing helps me make sense of these stories and information. Clothes and accessories become printing matrices through the addition of embroidery and collagraphy. Each piece highlights an aspect of my questioning of textiles. For me, the issue is not about stopping consumption, but about being aware of what this consumption implies, about talking about the stories behind these everyday objects.
